I got this:
Code: | evice Drivers -->
Input Device Support -->
<*> Joystick Interface
<*> Event Interface |
& this enabled:
Code: | Device Drivers -->
HID Devices --->
<*> USB Human Interface Device (full HID) support |
When I do dmesg to know if my joystick is detected because /dev/input/js0 is there. I used cat on that and I do see it works. But the problem is with the jstest. That one seems to be masked now ?
Code: | emerge games-util/joystick--- Invalid atom in /etc/portage/package.use: games-util/joystick-20060731
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ~] games-util/joystick-20060731 USE="sdl"
The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
#required by games-util/joystick (argument)
=games-util/joystick-20060731 ~amd64
Use --autounmask-write to write changes to config files (honoring CONFIG_PROTECT).

Should I unmask it or is there another program that's not masked that can help me configure my joystick ? _________________ I'm a noob, be gentle with me. TEACH ME |

It looks like it's only masked by keyword. My guess is you are running Gentoo stable, and this ebuild is marked unstable. There shouldn't be any problem unmasking it and giving it a try. If it doesn't work for some reason, you could also try games-misc/sdljoytest. And if you are running KDE, you can go to system setting > Hardware > Input Devices > joystick; you'll find a utility for at least testing your joystick there. Other desktops like Gnome or XFCE may have similar utilities. |
