|
|
I just installed Wine on my "new" installation of Gentoo. If I use the shell command "wine" or "winecfg" it works. Oddly enough, I can't see the menus in gnome on the top left corner. I even used the menu editor and theres nothing there.
I did some research in Google and I followed some instructions on this page. I started with what Anon-E-moose told in his post and it didn't solve the problem.
Code: |
cd .config/menus
ln -s applications-merged gnome-applications-merged
|
That didn't solve the problem. I still didnt see my wine menu. I even tried unemerge & remerge it back, reboot Gentoo and still didn't work. Anyone has any idea ? I could of course add it manually but... I want to find out what's going on before it continues with other programs. |

I don't think that majority need this menu. |

I'm not really understanding what the installation issue is. What are you expecting to happen that isn't happening? Are you expecting a wine GUI or something? If that's what you are looking for, try playing with 'PlayOnLinux'. Otherwise, explain why you think that it's not working, as you said wine and winecfg work fine. _________________ Before you insult someone, it is often best to walk a mile in their shoes.
