I've filed a bug on Bugzilla but it doesn't seem to get a lot of attention:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385879
It's quite bad that the site has a completely broken search function, especially since the fix "should" be fairly straightforward. I'm hope somebody finds the time to fix this..
Another solution might be to replace it with http://znurt.org/ or http://gentoo-portage.com/. Other people seem to be interested in having a working and up-to-date portage site, perhaps it's best if they get to handle it?
I really like http://packages.gentoo.org, it has a very very clean design, but it's sad that it's unusable _________________ Weeks of coding can save you hours of planning. |

The "official" search box is broken and has been for quite a while, but the Google Custom Search search bar works fairly well (the one on top) so that can always be used. |

No, that actually has the exact same issue. The results are opened in the left "frame" of the site. Plus the input field doesn't listen to enter keypresses, so you have to press the "search" button for it to act. _________________ Weeks of coding can save you hours of planning. |

PGO is in disappointing state few years already...just terrible!
I even think that 'Online Package Database' link from main Gentoo page should be removed... it's a shame.
Znurt is my fave!

is it scary when i thought about this the first thing that came to mind is i could use cobol to come up with something
then I lost 3 years of my childhood memories cause i had an anurism directly following the thought of using cobol _________________ “Music is a moral law.
