Doing the weekly update on my small Kurobox, I got this:
Code:
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild  NS    ] sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.32-r29 [2.6.39-r3] USE="-build -deblob -symlink" 63,768 kB

Total: 1 package (1 in new slot), Size of downloads: 63,768 kB

Any reason why 2.6.32 suddenly is the latest stable? Been running 2.6.38-r6 since Aug 16 (never got around to upgrade to 2.6.39)

freke,

My emerge --sync from a few minutes ago shows
Code:
gentoo-sources-3.1.6.ebuild:KEYWORDS="alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 ~ppc ~ppc64 s390 sh sparc x86"
as latest stable.

Have you masked the 3.x.x series kernels ?

even then
Code:
gentoo-sources-2.6.39-r3.ebuild:KEYWORDS="alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 ppc ppc64 sh sparc x86"
is the latest stable 2.6.x kernel.

For me all kernels (gentoo-sources) between 2.6.32 and 3.0 are gone as are all kernels > 3.0 without the latest security patch.

The keywords ~ppc ~ppc64 might be an accident, the result of a bad sync or maybe intentional due to reason I'm not aware of. It's strongly recommend to use on of the patched kernels after http://blog.zx2c4.com/749 was discovered or an old enough kernel which isn't affected.

Hadn't seen that - might explain the 2.6.39+ gone missing :) Thanks

Sorry about that, the stable kernels were deleted due to a security issue. I've marked 3.2 stable as it works fine on my G4, but I haven't tested it as much as usual.

Seems like I'm going to try 3.2 on my Kurobox then :) - Thanks

Just popping back in to report success - seems stable on my Kurobox HG WR.
And unless something strange went on last time I rebooted on my 2.6.38 kernel it seems to boot much faster now on 3.2.1...
Code:
[   16.730179] Adding 1048568k swap on /dev/sda2.  Priority:-1 extents:1 across:1048568k

On the 2.6.38 kernel swap was added after around 40-ish seconds.
