i want to try a combination of sawfish and gnome2 for my desktop

my inspiration is this screenshot
http://lnx.dk/stuff/screenshots/2002_04_02_234118_shot.png

i have some questions
i emerged everything
and added the following lines to my .xinitrc :
Code:

exec gnome-panel &
exec sawfish

my problem is that gnome2 does not load the wallpaper i selected and also when i browse files with nautilus, gnome loads a desktop with icons on it. how can i lanch this desktop directly at startup ?

then a sawfish question:
in e i could right click on a window title to shade it. is this possible in sawfish?

I think, to answer your first question, you might try the following:

-start your X server
-Click on the GNOME foot (the applications menu)
-find the System Tools submenu
-Click on Session Properties
-There should be a tab called Startup Programs or something of that persuasion. (Here you can customize what applications are and are not loaded at startup)

Hope this helps.
