Good day to anyone and everyone!

My issue is simple, but I'm exhausted by it. I've suffered from it probably as long as I've had Gentoo. Without a doubt, it's some error on my part, and I've been at it for awhile now without success. I've looked into it, and have had short successes, but even when I was able to watch flash videos in full screen, such as youtube for example, it lasted for only a day and no more. Recently, it seems at its worst, before it did not freeze up in small screen, and even now, it's starting to. So, I didn't want to rely on your precious free time, I really did try to fix it, even tried to ignore it and deal with it, but now I can't take it any more. I will try my best to give you all the information and details of my video card, the kernel settings I've enabled, what I've done to address the issue, and anything else that's relevant to my case that may be of some use. Thanks for your time, for looking into it if you decide to, for reading this, and your free support and hospitality.

What's first comes first. Let's display lspci to get an idea of my hardware configuration:

Code:

As we can see here, my graphics card is:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)

Here is my working kernel version:
Code:
uname -r
2.6.39-gentoo-r3

Now I just suddenly thought it would be a nice feature to be able to use a command displaying all kernel configurations, I know there must be one, but I don't know it. Therefore, using make menuconfig in /usr/src/linux, I will tell you the kernel settings I have for my graphics support:

Code:
cd /usr/src/linux
make menuconfig

Device Drivers --->
      Graphics Support --->
         <*> /dev/agpgart (AGP Support)  --->
              <*>   Intel 440LX/BX/GX, I8xx and E7x05 chipset support

         <*> Direct Rendering Manager (XFree86 4.1.0 and higher DRI support)  --->
              <*>   Intel 8xx/9xx/G3x/G4x/HD Graphics
               [*]     Enable modesetting on intel by default

              <*> Intel GMA500 Stub Driver

               -*- Support for frame buffer devices  --->  (NOTHING UNDER THIS SETTING; NO FRAME BUFFER DEVICES)

Quite obviously I emerged the intel driver.
I emerged xorg-x11.
I emerged KDE and KDM to start KDE. (I believe it's at latest, but I'm not sure, I don't know how to check)
I emerged www-plugins/gnash.
I emerged www-plugins/adobe-flash-11.1.102.55.
I emerged both media-libs/libflash and www-plugins/libflashsupport.
I emerged emerge www-plugins/nspluginwrapper.

This command didn't work with this error:
Code:
nspluginwrapper --verbose --install /usr/lib32/nsbrowser/plugins/libflashplayer.so
nspluginwrapper: /usr/lib32/nsbrowser/plugins/libflashplayer.so is not a valid NPAPI plugin

I've tried both firefox and chrome with no success.
Both produce the same errors. Glitchy displays and frozen on full screen.
I disabled Desktop effects in KDE/Kwin settings
I unchecked Hardware acceleration in adobe settings
I even put a specific line:
Code:
OverrideGPUValidation=true

into /etc/adobe/mms.cfg without any luck.

I've unmerged and remerged everything many times, and I'm afraid to even touch KDE by any means since I know how fragile GUI's are. I'm clueless, I've google searched endlessly and have tried all of these solutions with no help at all. I must be overlooking something simple, I only hope someone out there could point me in the right direction. I watch a lot of flash videos, and it comes with a constant penalty to continually have disruptions when I'm trying to concentrate on video guides to fix things that I can only get on youtube. The only other alternative is downloading the flash videos directly and watching them with vlc, yet this is inconvenient, I would rather just stream them from my browser. Please help.

Sincerely, with much thanks to anyone and everyone.

A couple things forgotten during mentioning:
Adobe.com says that flash is properly installed.
When starting chrome through terminal no errors are displayed when watching flash videos.
I'll have to update you on firefox, since I don't have it installed and I decided to:
Code:
emerge -av kde-meta

which says I've got 223 packages to install with 400 MB.
I'm willing to try anything and everything to get this working, so even updating KDE is worth a shot.
Good night for now.
