can no longer sync

Hello,

Some recent update or too hasty etc-update destroyed my ability to sync the tree.
regardless of the value of the SYNC-variable, I'm geting error messages of the form

@ERROR: Unknown module 'gentoo-portage rsync:'
rsync error: error starting client-server protocol (code 5) at main.c(1516) [Receiver=3.0.8]
>>> Retrying...

>>> Starting retry 24 of 24 with rsync://87.106.218.149/gentoo-portage rsync://rsync16.de.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage

Indeed, thanks! After encountering some initial problem, I had added alternative addresses, which only made things worse. And apparently I googled such parts of the error message, that didn't immediately find the result you pointed to.
