I've put together a gentoo-based system for sparc32 (tested on microsparc, supersparc and hypersparc). I'm running it on my sparcstations 4,5,10 and 20.
most recent kernel I've tested is 3.0.8 in smp on dual sm71.
I have it available as a "stage3" tar.bz2 file based on a current gentoo system (as of 2011-11-27) but with different kernel/gcc/binutils/libc
I've also put together a "livecd" install iso file to make it simple to boot and install on a box which has cdrom. If anyone is interested I can provide it via ftp.
let me know if anyone wants to take it for a test-drive on your old sun-box... |

I'd like to try it out I have and SS2 SS5 and SS10 to test on. Soon to have a Sparcbook 3TX <- TurboSparc which hasn't been tested.
I also have a frankenstein 411 drive with a U1 cdrom jammed in it the old slot loader wasn't working on newer disks (cd-r)
Have you tried running Xorg? I know it works on NetBSD and OpenBSD but they probably have fairly tweaked builds. |

I'll PM you login/pass so you can grab a copy on my ftp. just grab the file with the most recent date
I've not tried Xorg, my guess is that it should be possible to run on sparc32 linux.
let me know if you have any sucess |
