Does anyone know if there is a command to get alsamixer to save your sound settings? Whenever I reboot my sound is muted. I have to go into alsamixer and set all of my volumes and unmute everything. Is there a way to get the settings to stay? I just hate the extra step of having to configure alsa every boot. _________________ Boricua Hasta La Muerte |

Make sure alsa (or alsasound) is running and set up to start on boot.
Code: |
# rc-update add alsa boot
... doing stuff ...
# /etc/init.d/alsa start
ALSA .... [ok]

Sorry for the gigantic kick here, but I've got a related problem.
Though I feel I am acting like an ubernewbie, I can't get alsa to remember not being muted after a reboot. Picture this:
I followed the whole routine from http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml, but after every single reboot my sound is muted. I'm getting a little annoyed from having to go into alsamixer every morning to put my sound up.
What can possibly be the (no doubt insultingly simple) reason for this?
I been fondling with this problem for eons and eons now, and enough is enough |
