Hi,

most of you will have noticed, that Desura http://www.desura.com/ has started their Linux beta.
But I have a problem with the first beginning, the program to install desura instantly seg faults for me. It happens only for the x86_64, the i686 seems to work.
I have posted it there http://www.desura.com/groups/desura/forum/thread/linux-instant-seg-fault but no one seems to have a clue why it does it.

Can anyone confirm it or have a solution?

Yes.

Fix

Recompiling cairo with -qt4 and -xcb fixes the seg faults.

Hey all,
I'm able to get Desura running with just -opengl disabled from x11-libs/cairo in /etc/portage/package.use . -qt and -xcb were not necessary. I also compile in cleartype, but that's it. I'm a KDE user.

They do not provide DRM for publishers but they do not disallow it. Most of the content is DRM-free.

Proper tree-ready ebuilds are avaialable here

https://github.com/hasufell/hasufell-overlay/tree/master/games-util/desurium-meta
https://github.com/hasufell/hasufell-overlay/tree/master/games-util/desurium
https://github.com/hasufell/hasufell-overlay/tree/master/media-libs/desurium-cef

We'll wait until the wxGTK situation has improved a bit before importing it to the main tree.

I have also created a gentoo group:

Will join as soon as I reset my desura password ;)

Actually someone should write an article on there for new users and/or link to this forum page ;)
