A classic case of a package being unmasked and marked "stable" while one of its dependencies is still masked. The same thing was happening on PPC Gentoo, with queue-fix being masked, but after the latest sync I see they finally got queue-fix 1.4-r2 unmasked.
The solution is to either use an earlier version of the qmail ebuild, such as 1.03-r10, until they get the dependency masking straightened out; or, if you're feeling brave, use the ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~sparc" trick to unmask cmd5checkpw.
cmd5checkpw is used to provide authenticated SMTP, that is, the ability to require a password before users can send email through your server. It has been around for quite a while, so there is probably no harm in unmasking it.
If you want to be resourceful, you can also check Bugzilla and file a bug on this if there isn't one already. |
