ok.. As your MOBO has a "Realtek® ALC889/ALC885" sound chip, make sure this is selected as selecting Nvidia is not going to help you. Do you have sound? _________________ # touch it

when I select HDA intel (Realtek ..) I still don't have sound. Or I don't understand ? |

Keep that selected.. that IS your sound card.
For my Realtek via HDMI I have this compiled for the sound driver..

ok.I found old hdd where is windows.there it works so this is not problem of graphic card.I have everything enabled in hd intel kernel setting but I have compiled driver as module.I will try to build it in and I will talk more about the problem |

i have a gtx 460. what hell i had getting it to work. this connects to samsung tv/monitor.
i am only interested in hdmi output so i disabled onboard sound in bios.

ok guys.it works.
I installed kmix and I tried all devices via
Code: | aplay -D plughw:(number),(number) /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav |
and it was device 1,7.I dont know why it shows 8 outputs but I am extreme happy that it works.
