I was able to start gnome right after I emerged it, and then I went on to get my sound running... I didn't have my kernel compiled with my sound card as a module (C-Media 8738 I think), so I recompiled the kernel to include support for the c-media as a module, and also the OSS sound support as a module. after I did this I could no longer log in to gnome... I can get into KDE but not gnome... below is the log:

(PS: Sound still doesn't work, and the 'cmpci' and 'sound' modules are in modules.autoload)
soooo, first of all I need to get my sound going, and maybe find out why gnome doesn't start? |

Desktops to Multimedia, looks like an esd problem. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
