I fixed my problems with Gnome not working with ALSA by adding my user to the Audio group, but now, if I'm using XMMS, and a gnome app wants to play a sound, it locks up until XMMS drops ALSA. Is there any way to get multiple sound channels going? |

Bah. That didn't work before. Thanks for pointing that out. Now things seem to be working again. |
