postgis-1.5.2-r3 ebuild fails [SOLVED]

I'm using postgresql 8.3.12 and have set it with postgresl-config. Nevertheless dev-db/postgis-1.5.2-r3 fails to install:

* Messages for package dev-db/postgis-1.5.2-r3:
* You must build dev-db/postgis against PostgreSQL 8.3 or higher.
* Set an appropriate slot with postgresql-config.
* ERROR: dev-db/postgis-1.5.2-r3 failed (setup phase):
* postgresql-config not set to 8.3 or higher.

Have you checked the output of

postgresql-config show

as the ebuild uses that to test the set version

Thanks for the hint, it returned an empty line. After calling "postgresql-config reset" and "postgresql-config set 8.3" again, everything works fine now.
