I previously installed QT 3.2.2-r1 and had problems when using KDE 3.1.4. For the most part those problems went away when I reverted back to QT 3.2.1.
Is the emerge -s below saying that I need QT 3.2.2-r1?? Or can I safely assume that QT 3.2.1 is good enough?

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild U ] x11-libs/qt-3.2.2-r1 [3.2.1]
[ebuild N ] net-misc/kio_fish-1.1.2

I tried emerging just kio_fish but I can't seem to do that. If I do an "emerge -u /usr/portage/net-misc/kio_fish/kio_fish-1.1.2.ebuild" the ebuild automatically starts to build Qt 3.2.2-r1.
If I need Qt 3.2.2-r1 for kio_fish is there a way to have KDE use the older Qt while enjoying the benefits of kio_fish using a newer Qt??
Same problem I am having with trying to emerge kdesdk to get the Kompare diff program. Namely it seems to need Qt 3.2.2.

Thanks for any insight.

according to the details in packages.gentoo.org kio-fish should be included in kdebase-3.1 and higher |

Thanks pixie but I am somewhat confused as to whether I already have it or not. It doesn't seem to be working when I try to access a remote server through Konqueror.
Please see
where I started a thread on whether kio_fish really comes with kdebase 3.1 or not?
Thanks.
