Nitrogen or feh does not recognize jpeg files - OpenBox

I have just installed OB..Nitrogen and feh refuses to detect and open jpg files..As a result I am not able to choose wallpapers of jpg type.

Have you got JPEG enabled in your USE flags?

If not, or if you're not sure -

USE="jpeg" emerge -avuND feh x11-misc/nitrogen

If that offers to emerge a whole lot of packages with jpeg highlighted, accept and add jpeg to /etc/make.conf

USE=jpeg for media-libs/imlib2 should allow feh to work
