The directory within the archive downloaded by the ebuild is named "fbreader-0.12.10" instead of the normal "fbreader-0.12.20". I also met with this problem, but couldn't find a way yet to solve it. It should be either modified by the fbreader.org, where it is downloaded from, or to modify the ebuild file... I tried to rename the folder from within the archive, after that I get checksum mismatch and portage re-downloads it...
I have sent an e-mail for the fbreader developers to change the name of the folder... Hope it will solve the problem :)

Code: Select all

localhost ~ # dir /var/tmp/portage/app-text/fbreader-0.12.20/work/
fbreader-0.12.10
localhost ~ #
yes it shows like that. the folder name itself is wrong.
if only there was a emerge --pause available we could try rename this folder
now everytime it deletes the main folder itself while starting merge
:(
there should be a way to continue from where the merge stopped :D

You could get that by using ebuild foo.ebuild unpack; do stuff; ebuild foo.ebuild merge
Anyway, this version was already removed from portage because there's really no difference between .10 and .20

I'm not sure if the .20 file is new, I looked at both the .10 and .20 and they were exactly the same size and same date stamp

Code: Select all

-rw-rw-r-- 1 portage portage 2337798 Apr 1 2010 fbreader-sources-0.12.10.tgz
-rw-rw-r-- 1 portage portage 2337798 Apr 1 2010 fbreader-sources-0.12.20.tgz
UM780 xtx, 6.18 zen kernel, gcc 15, openrc, wayland
minixforum m1-s1 max -- same software as above but used for ai learning
