|

Hi,
Something weird has happened and is driving me crazy. I've been emerging KDE apps without any problems since I installed gentoo for the 1st time. Yesterday I unmerged ksplash-ml and re-emerged it, and then I saw some of the stuff got installed in /usr/share/apps instead of /us/kde/3/share/apps as it should be since KDEDIR=/usr/kde/3.
I've already tried lots of different things, such as modifying /etc/profile.env so that it shows KDEDIRS=/usr/kde/3, and many other things with no luck. It's funny because the 1st time I emerged ksplash-ml it would install correctly, but not now
Some output when emerging:
...
checking for KDE... libraries /usr/kde/3/lib, headers /usr/kde/3/include
checking for KDE paths... defaults
checking for dcopidl... /usr/kde/3/bin/dcopidl
...
...
...
>>> /usr/share/applnk/
>>> /usr/share/applnk/Settings/
>>> /usr/share/applnk/Settings/LookNFeel/
>>> /usr/share/applnk/Settings/LookNFeel/ksplash.desktop
>>> /usr/share/apps/
>>> /usr/share/apps/ksplashml/
>>> /usr/share/apps/ksplashml/Themes/
>>> /usr/share/apps/ksplashml/Themes/Default/
...
/usr/share/apps/ksplashml where it should say /usr/kde/3/share/apps/ksplashm
Any idea on how to fix this?
Thanks in advance ...

there's nothing wrong with your setup. All the kde apps are just now decided to be installed into /usr

Arf! Thanks for the quick answer. What a mess it'll be now, some apps in one path and some others in another one ... oh well.
Greets,
