Hi All,

recently Im installing a hardened server
the documents tell me to emerge "binutils gcc virtual/libc" after changed the profile to hardened/linux/amd64/10.0, seems it was installed two gcc, one is 4.3.4 another one is 4.4.3. I think the 4.3.4 one is the one for hardened, the 4.4.3 one just the one coming from stage. But when I try to "emerge --depclean" it's going to unmerge 4.3.4, even I already use the gcc-config to choose the 4.3.4.

My question is, if the gcc 4.3.4 is the one for hardened and also when emerge gcc it is installing the 4.3.4 also. But why when depclean will think the 4.3.4 is no use. What's the right approach to use hardened? I saw all documents just simply ask us to "emerge -e world" without asking us to choose the right gcc first. But when I emerged gcc again it still default to 4.4.3, and Im quite sure it isn't enabled with hardened yet.

Thanks
