I use this features. I like it but as Peach said there's few "loaders". I think a good choice is a flag-use selector with an extra integration with fortune. am I heretic? |

I voted "yes" by mistake... I meant: "yes, keep it!"
Anyway, I see no reason to remove it, hence, keep it. It cannot hurt those who do not use it and pleases those who do.

Your post is 1164b (1.2kb) and the easter eggs must be about the same size. Once gzipped, it becomes 668b. Are you really really serious when you say you worry about ~1kb you did not request? _________________ Compress portage tree

I just saw the messages browsing through the emerge code. Keep it! Every program should have an easter egg, or something else silly :)

Hopefully this won't be removed, as I always enjoy it on my boxes. But if it's for the sake of making portage better, it's pretty obvious Maybe if it is axed it could be brought back at a later date. |

But you just know it wouldn't.
Hey - how's about we set up an "Easter Eggs Herd", for the express purpose of filling Gentoo with as many obscure little gems as possible? Wouldn't that be absolutely brilliant? They could be applied as compile-time patches, all off by default but turned on by some undocumented USE flag.

It would be a crime to remove it. Might not be a very serious one, but still a crime.
And what's with this Victorian mentality all of a sudden? Fun in ze code ist verboten? Strong opinions on code cleanliness from people who have never read it? Are there terrorists in the code? Do they carry breastmilk onto planes, whipping it up with toothpaste into nucular weapons? _________________ .i lu doi ringos.star. xu do puku'aroroi dunli dopecaku leni virnu li'u

I never used it. I'm all 'go' for its removal if it would make things better/easier. _________________

Well, it looks good. So why not just modularize it? _________________ My blog |
