Hello
I have a small LAN connected to the internet with cable.
Every local machine has 100Mb card and is conected to switch (it indicates that everything is OK). The only port that works with 10Mb speed is my uplink. Machine I use to test gentoo is a dual boot (win98). The problem is whenever I plug in the uplink cable and test speed with samba share I get ~9Mb/s .... same test done when win98 is booted indicates 10 times this speed !! The funny thing is that gentoo works with that speed as soon as I unplug the uplink cable ......

Sounds like your switch is confusing your network driver under Linux. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

RH7.2 uses a different kernel than your Gentoo install, does it not? _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |
