I have HP Photosmart C4280 All-In-One printer/scanner/copier. I emerged xsane in order to be able to do some scanning. Unfortunately, xsane is not detecting my printer/scanner. Device is supported by xsane since I have it working without problems on the other systems. I've read somewhere that it might be permission issue. I added my user to "lp" and "scanner" group, and I tried as a root with no result. By the way, when I plug in my USB cam, xsane picks it up. Here are some things you might want to know.

# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the

# Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports

No scanners were identified. If you were expecting something different,
check that the scanner is plugged in, turned on and detected by the
sane-find-scanner tool (if appropriate). Please read the documentation
which came with this software (README, FAQ, manpages).
Thank you.
