has anyone seen the following error:

Quote:

t-rex root # emerge --pretend ghostview

These are the packages that I would merge, in order.

Calculating dependencies !!! Name error in m: category or package part missing.

I remember there was a recent update to python, and I wonder if that is the cause of this. Also I should point out that I was running out of space on /usr because the portage folder was huge, so I moved it to a different location and put a softlink in /usr (/usr/portage) I am not sure if that would affect it....i can't see that affecting it.

Read the /usr/portage/sys-apps/portage/files/README.RESCUE file. I think this will solve your problem.
