Description: Hunspell spell checker - an improved replacement for myspell in OOo.
|
Unfortunately I can not make the spell checking mechanism work in OO 3.2
In Tools - Options - Language Setting - Writing Aids the list 'Available language modules' is empty. So this might be the reason.
Does anyone knows how to solve this problem? _________________ Please notice the back of this message.

I seem to recall (but it's hazy) that you have to
use openoffice extensions to get spelling in the
bin version.
I don't know how that works since I use the
compiled version (which I think is better in
certain ways in any case). _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth

Thanks, I will give it s shot. But compiling openoffice is very time consuming. Is there a way to speed up this process? I remember that there is a setting in make.conf to speed it up. But I can not find this option anymore. _________________ Please notice the back of this message. |

Not sure, but there's "MAKEOPTS="-jX" where X is your number of threads + 1
So for my core-i7 920 I have MAKEOPT="-j9" -- takes about 45 minutes
to compile OO. _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth

Thanks albright,
this parameter I have already set to 3 because I have a Core2Duo (T7200 - 2 GHz) with has no hyperthreading.
I hope compiling OO will be done in a few hours. If I remember correctly I took about 9 to 10 hours when I compiled it the last time. Don't know on which hardware.
So tomorrow I will see if this pays off. _________________ Please notice the back of this message. |
