Hi.
I recently tried to install Gentoo ix86 onto my laptop. Downloaded the iso fine, made a bootable CD, etc.
The problem is, during the initial boot phase, it hangs after registering USB.
:: everything before checks out ::

I've installed Slackware on this same laptop system before without any problems, and that was using an older kernel. I'm relatively new to linux, however, and don't know in which direction to go.
Thanks!
Peace... |

what iso were you booting from? 1.1a? 1.2 ? 1.3a ?
try perhaps booting to a diff version and see if you ahve the same problem.
it doesn't matter which iso you boot to, you still use the 1.2 stageX tarball.
give that a try. if that all has the same problem, then get back to us! |
