according to "man make" under Exit Status:
Quote:

A status of one will be returned if the -q flag was used and make determines
that a target needs to be rebuilt.

I don't know more than that, sorry.

Ya, it looks like a compile error. First thing I would try is delete the distfile and /var/tmp/portage/media-gfx/exiv2-0.19
and start over.

I deleted the dist file and am getting the same thing. I finished an update last night so not sure if my emerge --info has changed so here it is again:

Again if there is anything else that would be useful just ask. Also what exactly is exiv2? Is it something that is critical?

It's pulled in by KDE:
Quote:
kde-base/libkexiv2
Description: KDE Image Plugin Interface: an exiv2 library wrapper

media-gfx/exiv2
Description: EXIF and IPTC metadata C++ library and command line utility

Your emerge --info looks good. Your best bet is probably open a bugreport.
