Hey everyone.. recently when I try to emerge a package using emerge -av I receive a strange error: For example:
when i try to emerge -av vmware-server, i get:
| Code: | emerge -av vmware-server
shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory
shell-init: error retrieving current directory: getcwd: cannot access parent directories: No such file or directory

I tried emerge --sync and still this error does not go away.. How do I go about fixing it?

try to change of current directory. Apparently, you are on a directory which has been removed.
