Okay, I hope no-one minds, but I recently posted a question on the mailing list, but it was not solved, so I now turn to the forums. Here is the extent of the correspondance, along with my current update:

So anyway, I tried this, and all seems to be well, when I run ifconfig, I get the broadcast of 192.168.2.255 and IP of 192.168.2.4. I can ping other comps within the LAN (indeed, i am ssh'ing into the box), but I cant go on the net without going through the instructions on getting Static IP's working in the install guide. I would greatly appreciate any and all help. _________________ Face it, we are all noobs.
On the box it said it was designed for Win XP or better, so why won't it work with Linux? |

just wanted to add one more thing. In my /etc/resolv.conf, I have two lines....."nameserver 207.69.188.186" and then the same one except the 186 is 185. I got these lines from looking in my router status. It says they are the DNS servers. _________________ Face it, we are all noobs.

The router is providing private (192.x.x.x) IP addresses? If that is the case, you probably have to set the gateway in /etc/conf.d/net. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
