Hi, I just got acroread to work in my UTF-8 locale.
I found out how to do it here:
http://www.suse.de/~mfabian/suse-cjk/Acroread-8.2-i386.html
I also had to change the line:
Code: | install_dir=/usr/X11R6/lib/Acrobat5/Reader |
to
Code: | install_dir=/opt/Acrobat5/Reader |
for it to work.

Non-issue; the new version of acroread ebuild uses a similar workaround.
It launches fine on a UTF-8 system. |

Yes, with the script mentioned in original post it works
