|

Two unrelated problems... Everytime I try to build KDE it bombs after about I'd guess 90minutes of compilation... Some font .o file isn't getting found. I've tried a couple of times with the same result... I don't have the specific error message as it takes quite some time to build (I'll capture it next time ...) I'm building on a VIA C3 800 using onboard video from the VIA EPIA mini-ITX mainboard (trident cyberblade generic sound familiar?)
The other one is just about me not knowing how to config the network startup... again the eth0 is detected and the driver module (via-rhine) is installed ... although when I was in bootstrap mode there was something about "mii" which I don't recognize now that the final kernel is built. When I start up eth0 has no address but running "dhcpcd eth0" from the root account gets me an address and away it hums. Anyone point me to whats wrong?

Run "rc-update add net.eth0 default", then edit /etc/conf.d/net so that the only uncommented line is the one that reads:
