Howdy, have progressed through most of the install, but ran into a minor problem: I'm installing a stage3 tarball, and although the rsync emerge was optional, I went ahead with it. A whole lot of text goes scrolling by, and finally, it hangs after these lines:
sys-apps/pciutils/pciutils-2.1.10.ebuild
1485 100% 0.00kB/s 0:00:00
I'm wondering if it's OK to Ctrl-C to get back to the prompt and move on with the install, or is the portage system screwed and I have to reinstall everything?

| OK I solved it already. Rebooted, went back in and rm -rf everything, then reinstall. The rsync completed the second time around. Guess it's a net connection thing (am downloading through broadband). |

Please don't be offended by this, but I just had an amusing thought: this is the classic, textbook response of the Windows community. 
(Except, mind you, it's "format c:" instead.)
