There seems to be a problem with the ebuild of MPlayer which prevents me from playing multiple videos on the screen at the same time. I know this is possible as I can easily do it with the CVS version of MPlayer. It looks like the ebuild disables x11 mode and falls back to xv. As far as I know, x11 mode is the only mode that can co-exist with other modes. In fact, the CVS version lets me launch at least three videos simultaneously all using x11 mode (I have not yet tried more).
When I try to launch the ebuild version of MPlayer with the -vo x11 switch, the video falls back to xv. Is there a way to make sure the ebuild is compiled with x11 built-in? When I compiled the CVS version, I didn't have to pass any switches at all.
Has anyone else had success with running multiple instances of MPlayer, all on the same display? |
