When booting up I get this message on the console;

PROVIDE: it usually is not a good idea to have more than one
service provide the same virtual service (alsa-modules)!

The machine continues the boot process and everything seems to be working OK.
Can someone tell me what this means and how to track it down?

OK, I figured it out.
Maybe some other noobs like me can get some use out of this experience so here is what happened. I was experimenting with my sound settings so before changing anything I made a backup copy of /etc/init.d/alsasound naming it alsasound~ and left it in /etc/init.d. This was the problem. Init was trying to run the backup copy along with the other. Once I moved the alsasound~ file out of /etc/init.d the error message disapeared.

Apparently there is more than one cause. I have the same issue, I've just been too lazy to investigate it. I checked, but had no extra alsa entries in init.d I think I read another thread with the same problem and different solution. I should go find it.
