I have an Epson Stylus Color 880 that is hooked up with a usb cord. I've tried a number of things to get it working including the linuxprinting.org directions for cups and the gentoo instructions for printing. Neither have worked. The specific problem that i'm having is that in the localhost:631/admin whenever i try to print anything it says that the

When I tried the Gentoo howto on printing it said to look in /var/log/messages to see if it is seeing the printer but I don't have that folder. Also there is nothing in my /dev/usb directory. I was looking at other posts and they were all including dmesg info so here is mine.

Alright I have done a lot of stuff in the last few hours and what I gather is that i need to
Code:
modprobe usb-uhci
but it comes up with this error
Code:
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r2/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-uhci.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r2/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-uhci.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r2/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-uhci.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r2/kernel/drivers/usb/usb-uhci.o: insmod usb-uhci failed

I have built this into my kernel as a module and done all that stuff.

I am at a loss. Help!

/etc/hotplug/pci.agent: line 173:  6034 Segmentation fault      $MODPROBE $MODULE >/dev/null 2>&1
