Hello,

I just upgraded my Xfce installation to ~amd64 with 4.6. Everything works fine except the icons.
I previously used the Xfce-supplied Rodent Icon set. Most of the applications do not have an icon, and the Application menu mostly consists of red crosses, indicating missing icons.

What's the preferred way to fix this? I just installed another icon set (Tango) which works better, but I prefer the old set.

Cheers,
chris

right click on the button without and icon > Properties. Than set it yourself. Or you can delete all the xfce settings and have it give you the default settings for 4.6 and than get everything to how it was before.

I just went through the cycle to delete all the Xfce related settings, but that didn't help.
That's how it looks like just after deleting all settings:

You'll want to install the Tango Icon theme from portage, optionally hicolor-icon-theme too. That or you can browse xfce-look.org and find a nice suitable set of third party icons to your likings and change via Settings-> Appeareances-> Icons tab
