I recall long ago that I had configured kde to start up with a border-less transparent terminal that stayed in / as the background. I used it to tail the master log file. I don't think it was interactive. I know it could not be moved, it had to be placed by manual config...

anyone seen / have this, or remember what it was? I have googled (probably for the wrong thing) be cause now I ask here!

Thanks!

Sounds like you may have used x11-terms/root-tail

I do not think that is what it was, but the end result looks similar! I remember getting it to work was a huge P-I-T-A, lots of config... this look much simpler...

Thanks!

Not a problem :)

If you could add [SOLVED] to the original posts title (use the Edit button) it will help others searching the forums
