My Fire210 boots ok on solaris.
Im trying to install gentoo 2008.0 on it.

It boots ok, all interfaces are up, but under /dev there is no sd devices
I guess it was my old OBP version 4.11.4. Trying to upgrade OBP and see if it recognise the disk.
Any other clue?

Sun Fire V210 (UltraSPARC-IIIi 1Ghz), 2Gb Memory and 72Gb disk

Sun fire v210 here too!
I don't remeber why... in the past when I install gentoo on this platform I also enable the Fusion MPT device support
Code:

[*] Fusion MPT device support  --->
 <*>   Fusion MPT ScsiHost drivers for SPI

--- snip ---
CONFIG_SCSI_SYM53C8XX_2=y
CONFIG_SCSI_SYM53C8XX_DMA_ADDRESSING_MODE=1
CONFIG_SCSI_SYM53C8XX_DEFAULT_TAGS=16
CONFIG_SCSI_SYM53C8XX_MAX_TAGS=64
CONFIG_SCSI_SYM53C8XX_MMIO=y
--- snip ---
CONFIG_FUSION=y
CONFIG_FUSION_SPI=y
CONFIG_FUSION_FC=y
CONFIG_FUSION_MAX_SGE=128
CONFIG_FUSION_CTL=y
--- snip ---

I can boot with kernel 2.6.27-gentoo-r8

You only need to load the Fusion MTP driver in the kernel.
