I've installed pidgin, but I cannot run it:
Code: | gentoo@laptop ~ $ pidgin
bash: pidgin: command not found
|
It's not in the xfce-menu too.
Finch works fine. Has anybody met this problem? Or do I run it with a wrong command?
creates only two files in /usr/bin, "finch" and some "purple-client-example", but the latter doesn't work - it fails with a segmentation fault... |

emerge --info: Code: |
gentoo@laptop ~ $ emerge --info

and the GTk flag is the point ... without this flag you get finch which is pidgin but for console, GTK add gtk support, and build X'orgs version of gtk _________________ "bo kto ma racje ? ten kto z bliska zobaczy"

Err... I should have realized that . Thanks a lot!
BTW, do you think it is a good idea to set gtk flag generally when I'm not running Gnome, but Xfce4? |

It is, after all, a "gtk" flag, not a "gnome" flag. XFCE is gtk based, so I'd say it's safe and even recommended to enable it. _________________ Make install - not war! |
