Weeve has been working on creating tftpboot images for us, but has hit some snags w/ ulibc, afaik. Until then, you can use debian's tftpboot.img from their mirrors, and once booted from that do the "Execute a Shell" option in the debian menu. From there you should be able to get things done (unpack a tarball, chroot, etc).

I just did this on my ultra 2 (only i was setting up a diskless system over NFS) i'm pretty sure the debian tftpimage has all the tools for partitioning a harddrive, etc needed though.

The debian tftpboot image does not include bzip2 support at last check, so you may need to download a stage and convert to tar.gz (or just untar it) on another host.

A Gentoo image is in the works, running into some snags but hopefully something soon.

Do you think this would work with an IPX ok? I'd love to be a guinea pig if you need one.
