`ebuild foo-1.ebuild digest` is incorrect. That is the old way. The new way is:
Code:
ebuild /path/to/ebuild/foo-1.0.ebuild manifest

Quote from `man ebuild`:
Code:
       manifest
Updates  the  manifest  file for the package.  This performs the
second half of the digest  command,  creating  md5sums  for  the
files in the files directory as well as the ebuild.

ok, first make the .ebuild file and then make the manifest file with:

ebuild /path/path/makenl.ebuild manifest

Quote from `man ebuild`:
[code] manifest
Updates the manifest file for the package. This performs the
second half of the digest command, creating md5sums for the
files in the files directory as well as the ebuild.
[/code][/quote]

I will the look at the ebuild example file and use man ebuild to see more here.
