MySQL fails on compile. i am compiling with gcc 3.1-r7
USE="gpm mysql 3dnow apm arts avi berkdb crypt cups encode gdbm gif gpm gtk imlib java jpeg kde gnome libg++ libwww mikmod mmx motif mpeg ncurses nls oggvorbis opengl pam pdflib png python qt qtmt quicktime readline sdl slang spell ssl svga tcpd truetype X xml2 xmms xv zlib"
(Note that yes, i am piss-poor at trimming my USE settings )
CHOST=i686-pc-linux-gnu
CFLAGS=-march=athlon -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -mmmx -m3dnow -pipe -funroll-loops
CXXFLAGS=$CFLAGS
Hardware is an Athlon 700 with 512Mb RAM and plenty of hard drive space (i think - $(df) confirms...)

/etc/make.profile -> /usr/portage/profiles/default-1.0-gcc3

[ because i needed it quickly, i've made a binary package on another machine ( a very similar installation ), emerge -k mysql and, -hopely-, that works ] |
