Hi guys,

I did a world update and it fell over at phpmyadmin.. no problem I thought, I just emerged the rest off the stuff and would go back to work out what was wrong with phpmyadmin...

Anyway, after trying to do a revdep-rebuild nothing would compile, so started looking at gcc... both the revdep-rebuild and gcc fall over at emergeing gettext....

configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

It appears I have 4.1.2 installed, but cannot compile anything at all.... now... any suggestions on how to proceed?

Any help much appreciated

I think this has got something to do with my apparent change to 4.1.2?

I edited the make.conf to show my CHOST to be:

CHOST="sparc-unknown-linux-gnu-4.1.2"

Then did a:

gcc-config sparc-unknown-linux-gnu-4.1.2

Code:
 * Switching native-compiler to sparc-unknown-linux-gnu-4.1.2 ...
ls: cannot access /etc/env.d/gcc/sparc-unknown-linux-gnu-4.1.2-*: No such file or directory

 * Your gcc has a bug with GCC_SPECS.
 * Please re-emerge gcc.

OK, the network error was my router... :roll: not the disk being full!

I used the eselect profile set 1 (2007) instead of a symbolic link that I used before (should do the same). Did an etc-update and there were a few things to do... rebooted and now I am compiling again...

Hmm, still not sure what the problem was, and what the solution was.....

Has everyone moved on to the 2008 profile?

It appears that phpadmin falls over due to webapp and the following fixes:

emerge --oneshot webapp-config
