app-office/koffice-1.3_beta3 is broken

I get the following errors when trying to run app-office/koffice-1.3_beta3:

[sczjd@gentoo sczjd]$ kspread
koffice (lib kofficecore): ERROR: Couldn't find the native MimeType in kspread's desktop file. Check your installation !
[sczjd@gentoo sczjd]$ kword
koffice (lib kofficecore): ERROR: Couldn't find the native MimeType in kword's desktop file. Check your installation !

I suspect that the issue could be because kde is located in the non-standard /usr/kde/3.1 directory whereas koffice is installed in the more standard /usr directory.
