Bonjour,
Après pas mal de déboires et quelques nuits blanches ( cf : https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-697850.html ) le système est de nouveau opérationel. Un petit soucis demeure, je n'ai pas les boutons croix, carré, underscore dans le coin droit des fenêtre ainsi que l'icône qui n'est pas à sa place. une petite image vous permettra de mieux comprendre :

Salut,
pourrais-tu juste préciser si ton problème arrive quelque soit le thème utilisé, ou uniquement avec celui que l'on voit sur la capture d'écran? |

salut,
l'agencement des boutons de la barre de titre metacity (tu utilises bien metacity?) peut être modifié dans gconf-editor via la clef /apps/metacity/general/button_layout.
par défaut, sa valeur est menu:minimize,maximize,close
ça donne quoi chez toi? |

Trop fort !!!
en parcourant gconf-editor, il n'y a pas de rubrique 'metacity'
un petit emerge --search metacity me montre que le paquet est tout de même installé, je le réinstall par :
emerge -av x11-wm/metacity
Je relance X et c'est le bonheur !!!

en parcourant le log d'install, je vois à la fin :

Ma question est la suivante : existe t-il une commande pour regénérer les GConf shemas ce qui aurait peut être evité un nouvel emerge du paquet

bah, tu peux installer un schéma manquant avec:
