|
|
Hi,
I recently followed the gentoo 32bit chroot guide for my amd64 system, and compiled a binary package for firefox from within it, in order to install it on x86_64, using the method described here http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_AMD_64#Compiling_Applications_in_the_chroot_and_Installing_them_on_64-bit_systems.
However, when I try to emerge --usepkgonly in x86_64, emerge says the package is masked for amd64. How do I unmask it?
Don't know if it matters but I am compiling with march=prescott.
Code: | !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "www-client/mozilla-firefox" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.0_rc1 (masked by: package.mask, ~amd64 keyword, CHOST: i686-pc-linux-gnu)
/usr/portage/profiles/package.mask:
# Raúl Porcel <armin76@gentoo.org> (8 Apr 2008)
# Masked for testing

if it's ahrd masked you have to add an entry to the /etc/portage/package.unmask if it's masked by keywords add antry to /etc/portage/package.keywords the entry should look like package-category/package_name or could be with version also look at this http://gentoo-wiki.com/Masked if you don't get what i'm takin about ;p _________________ "bo kto ma racje ? ten kto z bliska zobaczy"

I have already done this, obviously because I'm using a firefox RC, I have unmasked in both .keywords and .unmask. The package still is masked though, maybe due to "CHOST: i686-pc-linux-gnu" although I wouldn't know. |

*bump* anyone? This happens for any other 32bit handmade packages too. |

Do you need to use an amd64 install and build the package using some special FEATURES options or something instead? |
