Yeah, how do I?
I wanna make gShield (firewallscript) to autoload when I reboot (which won't happen too often, my RH had a uptime of 240 days before the comp broke).
I'm not a newbie generally, but since I _never_ rebooting that machine... |

You can put stuff in /etc/conf.d/local.start to start local services that don't have a script in init.d and /etc/conf.d/local.stop to stop them. |

Correct, the local.st* scripts are the way to go. However... why not use rc-update? It really is your friend. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

Umm, I promise to use rc-update if you learn me how to.
I don't have a /etc/init.d/gShield(.rc). I guess I have to create one then, but how? |

Look at some of the other scripts in /etc/init.d/ -- it's rather straightforward. Also, man start-stop-daemon, as it's also your friend. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |
