|
|
A friend of mine (yeah right you say ) broke his gentoo after getting a blocked conflict,
[blocks B ] sys-apps/mktemp (is blocking sys-apps/coreutils-6.10-r1)
[blocks B ] <sys-apps/util-linux-2.13 (is blocking sys-apps/coreutils-6.10-r1)
[blocks B ] >=sys-apps/coreutils-6.10 (is blocking sys-apps/mktemp-1.5)
Emerge -C coreutils/util-linux is perhaps not the brightest thing to do,
now basic files like ls/rm etc are gone...
Is there a way to reinstall this without emerge?

Following the above link would be a good start, but to summarize:

Basically you need a boot disk, and pre-compiled packages of whatever you shouldn't have un-installed for your arch.
If you have another working computer with the same arch and similliar toolchain (gcc versions etc), it is easy. _________________ emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "moo" |

Moved from Portage & Programming to Duplicate Threads in favour of the link provided by tabanus. _________________
