Just aquired an ultra5
its currently emerging system (initial install) and nothing is busticated yet
my question is,
ive got the onboard pgx24 graphics set... what X driver am I going to want to use?
will it support DRI/OpenGL ?
also, I'm using a type6 keyboard/mouse ... any known issues?
My other Sparc64 box is an ultra1 which runs gentoo happily, Im glad to say, but its a totally differant beast from the ultra5 which I dont have much experience with yet....
hows PCI support with the ultra5? will most stuff (specifically, a realtek ethernet nic) usually work if its supported in linux?
other tips/warnings/thoughts? _________________ -Tim Smith |

This is the graphics driver I use: (heck, just gonna snippet it..)
Code: |
Section "Device"
Identifier "ATI Mach64 3D Rage Pro"
Driver "ati"
#VideoRam 4096
# Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection
|
There is no support for DRI/OpenGL though.
PCI Support is pretty good... I've only tried a couple of scsi cards so far, and kernel modules compiled fine and worked. Pretty much anything that shows up in the kernel config *should* work. _________________ -Todd <todd@gentoo.org>
