Hi!
After installing KDE 3.02, Alsa and the EMU10K1 tools for my Audigy soundcard I was able to play sound with aplay, but some problems occured:
1) In my /dev directory was only mixer- dsp- device instead of mixer and dsp
2) In KDE 3.0.2 I couldn't choose the ALSA Sound System in KControl (This option is available e.g. in Mandrake 8.2).
I had to set the audio device to /dev/dsp-, but I couldn' t use the KDE mixer and I only heard two channels (no sub woofer).
How can I get the correct dsp and mixer devices in /dev and how can I make KDE to support ALSA?

I could be horribly off-base: I didn't think the audigy was based on the emu10k1 - do they use the same driver?
